Joseph Mancuso arrested in New Hyde Park bank robbery, police say
Nassau County police said Wednesday they have arrested one suspect in connection with the July robbery of a New Hyde Park bank.
Joseph Mancuso, 43, of Johnson Avenue in Bohemia, is charged with second-degree robbery for his role in the holdup at the Valley National Bank, at 699 Hillside Ave., on July 10, 2015, police said.
A police spokesman Wednesday said the other suspect was still at large.
Mancuso was arraigned Tuesday at First District Court in Hempstead, police said. No details on the arraignment were immediately available.
Police said Mancuso and another man entered the bank branch at 4:03 p.m. and each handed a note to tellers, demanding cash.
The tellers handed over an unspecified amount, and the suspects ran west on Hillside Avenue, police said.
There were seven employees in the bank at the time of the robbery. No one was hurt, police said.
