Man taken to hospital after violent armed robbery in Lakeview, police say
Detectives are investigating an assault and robbery Monday night in Lakeview that sent a man to the hospital with facial fractures, missing teeth and other injuries, Nassau County police said.
Four men approached the 32-year-old victim in front of his Mahopac Road home at 10:25 p.m., police said in a news release Tuesday morning.
When he refused demands to open the front door, one man struck him in the face with a silver handgun, another struck his face with a black handgun and the other two punched and kicked him, police said.
After one man removed cash from the victim’s pocket, the four drove north in a black Dodge Durango and black Chevy Camaro, police said.
The victim was treated at a hospital for facial fractures, a cut to the top of his head and a fractured jaw, and several of his teeth were knocked out, police said.
Fifth Squad detectives asked anyone with information to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477, with all callers remaining anonymous.
