Medford man resists arrest, has controlled substance, police say
Southold Town police arrested and charged a Medford man with resisting arrest and possession of a controlled substance after a chase and hit-and-run Friday morning, police said.
Police said they tried to pull over Anthony T. Kress, 23, because his vehicle matched the description of a car that had fled a hit-and-run in Riverhead.
Police cars pursued Kress, who eventually stopped and surrendered to cops at New Suffolk Avenue and Marratooka Road in Mattituck.
Police processed Kress at Southold Town police headquarters after finding an unspecified prescription drug in his vehicle. He was released on an undisclosed bail and awaits his next court date.
