Suffolk County police have identified a New Jersey man as the person killed by a hit-and-run driver on Friday evening in Wyandanch.

Hillel Fuld, 29, of Teaneck, New Jersey, was struck by a vehicle while he was walking around 7:30 p.m. on eastbound Wyandanch Avenue, west of Mount Avenue, Suffolk County police said.

The driver sped away in an unknown vehicle. Police said on Tuesday that no arrests had been made.

Fuld was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip, where he was pronounced dead on Friday, police said.

Fuld is the cousin of an American-Israeli tech blogger named Hillel Fuld, the blogger said in an Instagram post.

“Physically I’m ok,” Fuld wrote. “Emotionally we are all broken.”

Police are asking anyone with information to call detectives at 631-852-6555 or make tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS.
