Two people have been charged in connection with an armed robbery in Ronkonkoma after which one suspect called a cab to make a getaway, Suffolk County police said Sunday.

There were no injuries, police said.

Fifth Squad detectives said the robbery occurred at about 7:30 p.m. Friday when Christina Pecoraro, 29, of Ronkonkoma, was driving a 2000 Nissan Altima and dropped Jason Scourby, 33, of Patchogue, off on Cedar Avenue in Ronkonkoma.

Police said Scourby walked up to a car with a man and woman inside, pulled out a gun and demanded money. The male victim jumped out of the vehicle and fled the scene, police said.

Scourby then jumped into the car with the victim’s girlfriend in the passenger seat and drove away — displaying a gun and telling her to call her boyfriend to get money.

The male victim called 911 and at about 8:10 p.m. police found and arrested Pecoraro on the corner of Walnut Avenue and Peconic Street in Ronkonkoma, authorities said.

Officers later located Scourby in Ronkonkoma and a brief pursuit followed. Authorities said Scourby abandoned the vehicle in Holbrook, taking the female victim with him.

He walked to a stranger’s house, asked to use a phone and called a cab company. The cab picked up Scourby and the female victim, police said.

Scourby was taken into custody at about 10:30 p.m. after officers saw two people fitting his and the female victim’s descriptions in the cab and initiated a traffic stop on Maria Court in Holbrook.

Police said they believe Scourby and the male victim knew each other, but they had no further details on their relationship or further details on the robbery.

Scourby was charged with robbery, unlawful imprisonment, menacing, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Pecoraro was charged with robbery.
