A Bay Shore man, whose armed home invasion robbery spree of drug dealers across Long Island included the fatal shooting of a man in Freeport, has been sentenced to life plus 84 years in prison, authorities said.

Tyrone L. Robinson, 35, was found guilty during a jury trial in February 2020 of murder, seven counts of robbery and attempted robbery of drugs and drug proceeds, seven counts of unlawful use, brandishing and discharge of firearms, and four counts of being a felon in possession of firearms and ammunition. The sentence was set by U.S. District Judge Joan M. Azrack in Central Islip.

Federal prosecutors said between August 2015 and May 2016, Robinson and his co-conspirators committed multiple armed home invasions in Nassau and Suffolk counties in which the victims were pistol-whipped, zip-tied and threatened with being shot and killed.

Robinson’s attorney, Ruth Liebesman of New Jersey, did not respond to a message seeking comment.

A victim named Jonathan Isaac was fatally shot in the back during a home invasion in Freeport in February 2016, prosecutors said. During another home invasion the following month in Lake Grove, Robinson threatened to kill an 8-year-old girl if she did not find money for him, prosecutors said.

Police recovered Robinson's cellphone, which he had apparently dropped, at the scene of the Lake Grove home invasion and found Google searches for directions "to his targeted locations" and for news reports on his crimes, prosecutors said. A neighbor had called police.

After Isaac’s killing and the shooting of another victim in Freeport, Robinson searched "two shot Freeport" and watched news reports detailing the violence, prosecutors said.

"Robinson’s violent crime spree extended not only to possessing illegal drugs and weapons, and committing home invasions, robberies and murder, but also to threatening to take the life of an innocent 8-year-old child," said Breon Peace, the U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of New York, in a statement Wednesday. "Today’s lengthy sentence serves to protect our communities, including our children, while sending a strong message to violent offenders like the defendant that they will be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law."

ATF Special Agent-in-Charge John B. DeVito said: "Today’s sentence ensures that a serial predator will never be set free to inflict violence within our communities. The reign of terror of Tyrone Robinson is over. Convicted of murder with a firearm, armed robbery, armed assaults, Robinson preyed upon his victims and showed no mercy."
