West Babylon 7-11 robbed by very tall armed man, cops say

The masked gunman was very tall. Perhaps 6 feet 6 inches.
This one trait could lead to the capture of the man who robbed the West Babylon 7-Eleven store on Little East Neck Road just before 9 p.m. Wednesday — or at least, that's what Suffolk County detectives hope.
"He appears to be pretty tall, estimated between about 6 foot 3 to 6 foot 6," First Precinct Det. Lt. Shaun Spillane said Friday. "Especially when you look at him compared to the size of the store clerk ... the suspect is so tall that he makes everybody else look small."
Store surveillance video shows the robber coming in quickly, a white bag in his left hand and a gun in the other hand pointed at the clerk. He wore what appeared to be a dark, cloth mask over his face, a hooded top and what looked like acid-washed jeans, police said.
"He just said 'give me the money' as soon as he walked into the store," Spillane said. "You can see from the video he was in and out very quickly."
The video shows the store employee put his hands up, then quickly handed the robber the entire cash drawer. Police said the drawer contained about $400 to $500.
The robber then ran off, police said.
"We appreciate any help the public can give us from seeing the video," Spillane said.
First Precinct detectives ask anyone with information to call them at 631-854-8152 or Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS.
