Unpaid parking ticket amnesty begins Feb. 1

Hempstead Village officials will offer an unpaid parking ticket amnesty program for residents.

The village will accept outstanding parking tickets that were due before Jan. 1 during the month of February until March 1. Officials will forgive outstanding penalties for residents looking to pay off tickets. The amnesty forgiveness does not apply to traffic tickets, failure to appear in court, or housing complaints.

Residents can apply to pay tickets starting Feb. 1 on the Hempstead Village Court website hempstead.surecourt.com.

“Unpaid or excessive parking tickets can result in the suspension of your driving license,” Hempstead Mayor Wayne J. Hall Sr. said. “This program is designed to help hardworking Hempstead residents keep their licenses and protect their driving records.”

For more information, residents can call Village Hall at 516-478-6200 or go to villageofhempstead.org.
