A sting operation last week targeting businesses selling alcoholic and tobacco products to minors resulted in six arrests in Hempstead, Nassau police said Monday in a news release.

Six people who worked at various businesses in Hempstead were arrested and charged with selling alcoholic beverages to minors. All were released after officers issued them summonses.

They are scheduled to come to First District Court in Hempstead Wednesday to answer the charges.

Police would not identify the underage person who helped officers from the Nassau County and Hempstead police departments make the arrests.
