Nassau police charged a man with second-degree assault after they said he stabbed another man in the neck with a steak knife during an argument Thursday night inside a Baldwin bar.

David Taus, 51, of 3308 Bertha Dr. in Baldwin, was arrested Saturday, police said.

Taus and the victim, 48, argued inside the Oasis bar at 779 Brooklyn Ave., when he stabbed the man, police said.

The victim suffered a large cut and bled heavily, while Taus fled. The victim was released from the hospital after receiving stitches, police said.

Taus was arraigned Sunday in First District Court in Hempstead, but information on the hearing was not available.
