Police release sketch of suspect in Old Westbury robbery
He stole a self-propelled "hoverboard" style scooter during an on-campus gunpoint robbery of three students at SUNY Old Westbury late last month, Nassau County police said.
Now, police have released a sketch of the alleged assailant, whose lower teeth are clad in a "gold grill" -- and are asking the public's help finding him.
The robbery took place at about 1:30 a.m. Aug. 28.
Police said the robber, armed with a handgun, exited a tan minivan or small sport utility vehicle, approached three victims -- described as a 20-year-old male and two 19-year-old males -- then displayed a handgun and stole the board.
The suspect was about 6-foot and wore what police called "a distinctive red, white and gray sweater." Additional details were not available.
Police are asking anyone with information regarding the suspect or the incident to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS or to talk to a member of the SUNY Old Westbury campus police at 516-876-3333 and refer to case No. 102-15. All calls will remain confidential, police said.
