A Melville teen accused of distributing child pornography through his email account was ordered held on $20,000 bond or $10,000 cash bail at his arraignment in Nassau First District Court on Saturday.

Jack Roach, 19, was taken into custody at 11 a.m. Friday for promoting the sexual performance of a child. AOL alerted authorities in May that an email account originating in Farmingdale was used to send child pornography of a female engaged in sex acts, police said.

Roach is charged with two counts of promoting the sexual performance of a child.

He is due back in court Sept. 24.
