Child hit by county NICE bus has minor injuries
A child sustained minor injuries after being hit by a NICE bus in Oceanside Tuesday, a Nassau police spokeswoman said.
The spokeswoman said the 12-year-old was struck at 4:23 p.m. near the intersection of Woods and and Arnold avenues. The incident is not being investigated as criminal, she said.
A spokesman for Nassau Inter-County Express, Mark Smith, said the incident involved a bus on the N15 line. That line runs from Long Beach to Roosevelt Field or Mineola. The bus was taken out of service and another bus was dispatched to finish the route, Smith said.
NICE is not releasing the name of the driver, Smith said.
