Police are investigating the Wednesday morning robbery of a West Hempstead bank.

The suspect, described as in his 30s, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and wearing a maroon hooded sweatshirt and a baseball cap with "NY" on it, entered the Chase Bank at 565 Hempstead Tpke. at 10:45 a.m. "and presented a demand note to the teller," Nassau County police said in a news release.

The teller handed over an undetermined amount of cash, and the robber fled east on Hempstead Turnpike, police said.

None of the seven workers and one customer in the bank was injured, police said.

Anyone with information about the robbery is urged to anonymously call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
