An Elmont man was arrested Monday, charged with burglarizing homes in Elmont in February and March, police said.
Robert Covelli, 47, of Elmont Road, was charged with four counts of second-degree burglary, Nassau County police said. He is scheduled for arraignment Tuesday in First District Court in Hempstead.
Police said that between Feb. 12 and March 30, Covelli broke into homes on Oak Street, 109th Avenue, Sterling Road and Blackstone Street.
He gained entry by breaking the glass on side doors or basement windows, police said, then stole assorted jewelry, police said.
The burglaries occurred on Feb. 12, March 18 and March 30, according to police.
A police news release Tuesday did not say what kind of jewelry was taken or how much the jewels were worth.
