Queens motorcyclist dies in Southern crash
State Police are investigating the death of an East Elmhurst, Queens, man whose motorcycle crashed into a tree early Tuesday on the Southern State Parkway in Rockville Centre.
Police said Lachan Fernandez-Molina, 28, was driving west on the parkway near Peninsula Boulevard, Exit 19, when he lost control of his BMW motorcycle and struck a tree off the north shoulder.
He was taken to Mercy Medical Center in Rockville Centre where he was pronounced dead, police said.
