Machete-wielding robbers stole cash from two people walking to their vehicles in Hempstead, Nassau County police said.

The victims, a 20-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman, were going to the vehicles Friday at about 9:15 p.m. behind an address on Fulton Avenue when two men appeared with the knives and demanded money.

The robbers then fled with the money in a gray Acura. No one was hurt, police said.

Police asked for help solving the crime: 800-244-TIPS. Cops promise anonymity to callers.
