A North Shore High School technology whiz is proving his skills locally and internationally.
Grant Goodman of Sea Cliff, a sophomore, was one of 350 students from around the globe selected to attend the 2015 Apple Worldwide Developer Conference in San Francisco, where the company in June unveiled new software and technologies.
It was Goodman's second time to be invited to the conference based on his tech feats, which include publishing five apps offered through the Apple Store. His most popular app, Prodigus, allows users to play YouTube videos without ads and has been downloaded 5,000 times in the past year and a half, he said.
"The possibility to do anything you want is there," said Goodman, 15.
He is working on an app that would allow North Shore teachers to create multiple-choice quizzes and track student progress, as well as another that would let students sign up for community service and track their hours.
Goodman is a member of his school's robotics and debate clubs and studies five languages: Arabic, Mandarin, German, Russian and Latin. He also has attended Yale University's iD Tech Camp.
"When you speak with Grant, you can instantly tell he is full of knowledge and potential," North Shore robotics coach Stephen Peroni said.
