Members of the 2012 graduating class of the Webb Institute listen to keynote speaker, Dr. Stephen M. Payne, O.B.E., during the 116th commencement ceremony on their campus in Glen Cove. Steven Guglielmoni, member of the Class of 2012, told his fellow students, "At any other college, at any other time, we probably wouldn't be friends." He went on talking about the close-knit class, ". . . But I can say that I now love each and every one of you like family."

 

Commencement address

Stephen M. Payne, chief designer of the Queen Mary 2, the luxury trans-Atlantic ocean liner. He told the graduates that their degree will be held in very high regard, but "don't be put off by setbacks. Go back to the drawing board and think about how you can make things better." He ended by saying, "Cast off, set sail and bon voyage! . . . Most of all, enjoy your career to the fullest."
