Westfield Sunrise mall reopens after gas line struck

Construction workers doing renovations at the Westfield Sunrise mall in Massapequa struck a gas line late Wednesday morning, forcing the brief evacuation of the north end of the mall, Nassau County police said.
Police said there were no injuries.
The incident was reported in a 911 call at 11:46 a.m. The mall had been fully reopened to the public about 90 minutes later.
Police said the incident happened near a loading dock at the site of the old Walmart building.
