He received a Master of International Public Policy and a doctorate in international relations from Johns Hopkins University.
ISSUES:
- Schwartz said he wants to tackle the high cost of living on Long Island. He said he would support legislation to reduce property taxes by 15% with the help of state subsidies.

Schwartz said he wants to introduce legislation that would rescind or revoke private universities' property tax exemptions should they fail to protect Jewish or other minority students from hate and discrimination under the federal Civil Rights Act.
