BACKGROUND

  • Curran, 56, of Lynbrook, is running on the Republican and Conservative party lines in the general election. He was elected to the New York State Assembly in 2010, where he served until 2018 and was reelected in 2022.
  • He has been Nassau County public administrator, deputy attorney for Nassau County and mayor of Lynbrook.
  • He received a law degree from the City University of New York. 

ISSUES

  • He said the high cost of living is a priority and that he would continue fighting for common-sense measures like enhancing the STAR program, increasing the State Earned Income Tax Credit and expanding the Empire State Child Credit.
  • Curran said there is more work to be done with the Bail Reform Law, such as granting judges more discretion in determining who should be held with bail.
  • He said hewould continue to advocate for tax relief and removal of the $10,000 cap on the SALT deduction, which he said would bring immediate tax relief to middle-class homeowners.
