From 1990 to 1996, Copertino worked as an assistant district attorney in the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office’s Grand Jury Bureau. - Copertino graduated from upstate Elmira College in 1978 and received his law degree from Fordham University School of Law in 1981. He was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1981. After law school, he joined the Navy and became a judge advocate general for seven years.
