BACKGROUND

  • Goodstein, 56, of Rockville Centre, is running on the Republican, Democratic and Conservative party lines in the general election.
  • He was appointed to the Court of Claims in 2012, and has been acting Justice in Nassau County Supreme Court since then.
  • He has been supervising judge of Nassau County’s Matrimonial Center since 2017, and supervising Supreme Court judge, Nassau County, since August 2023.
  • From 2013 to 2014, Goodstein was supervising judge for town and village courts in Nassau County, and was court attorney referee in Nassau from 2010 to 2012.
  • Goodstein was a principal law clerk to Judge Anthony Marano from 2008 to 2010, and to Judge Kenneth A. Davis from 2000 to 2008, and from 2004 to 2009, he was the deputy village attorney for Rockville Centre. 
  • He graduated from Ithaca College in 1989 and received his law degree from Touro College, Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center, in 1997. Graf was admitted to the New York State Appellate Division, 2nd Department, in 1998, and to the U.S. Eastern and Southern District Courts in 1999.
