BACKGROUND

  • Lin, 38, of Merrick, is running on the Democratic Party line in the general election and is making her first bid for public office. She is the Supervising Court Attorney for Queens County Criminal Court.
  • Lin began her career helping justice-involved youth reintegrate into their communities through job training and educational programs and by connecting them with opportunities.
  • She received her law degree from St. John’s University School of Law in 2013.   

ISSUES

  • Lin said she understands the challenges Long Islanders are facing with affordability. If elected, she said she would work to eliminate wasteful spending and prioritize putting money back into the pockets of working families.
  • She said she also would focus on public safety, fully funding law enforcement and ridding the streets illegal gunsa.
  • Lin said she is determined to ensure that New York State continues to be a “bastion of reproductive freedom” and stressed the importance of protecting health care providers from harassment, intimidation and violence.
