ISSUES

  • LiPetri said he wants to restore the ability for people to deduct state and local taxes from their federal taxes, reversing a change made by the Trump administration. He said he also wants more tax incentives for working mothers and easier startup loans for trade-based businesses.
  • He said he wants to “fully secure” the border and deport those who entered the U.S. illegally. He is in favor of making immigration admission a merit-based system.
  • LiPetri said he would allow federal attorneys to take over from district attorneys when local officials won’t prosecute some crimes.
