Sources: Vincent Messina to get Independence nod for state Supreme Court
When the Independence Party holds its bicounty judicial convention Monday night, among those nominated for state Supreme Court justice will be former Islip Town Attorney Vincent Messina, according to party sources.
Messina, a prominent elections lawyer, currently is the minor party’s candidate for state attorney general. But Messina was considered a place holder pending the outcome of the Democratic attorney general primary, which was won by Letitia James.
The Independence Party is expected to name James as its attorney general candidate when the vacancy on its line occurs.
