Former Suffolk legislator George Guldi won a brief reprieve Friday from getting sentenced on his grand larceny conviction.

Guldi, of Westhampton Beach, faces 5 to 15 years in prison for the grand larceny conviction and 2 1/3 to 7 years for his conviction of insurance fraud. A jury found him guilty last month.

Guldi had a new legal adviser Friday, Leonard Lato of Central Islip. He argued that the law requires the defendant to have a full day to review a presentence report, but Guldi had not yet seen it.

Judge James F.X. Doyle delayed sentencing until Monday.
