Emergency personnel respond to the scene where a bicyclist was struck by a car and killed in Bay Shore on Saturday night. Credit: Evan Rolla

A 67-year-old man riding a bicycle was killed in a motor vehicle crash Saturday night in Bay Shore, Suffolk County police said.

Juan Miguitama-Aguilar, of Bay Shore, was struck by a car while crossing Fifth Avenue from the sidewalk about 9:10 p.m., police said. His bicycle was struck by the driver of a southbound Toyota Camry in the right lane on Fifth Avenue, police said.

Miguitama-Aguilar was brought to South Shore University Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver was not injured but police impounded the Camry for a safety check.
