Lake Ronkonkoma Beach in the Town of Islip has been reopened to bathing, the Suffolk County Department of Health Services said Friday.
Closed Wednesday as a result of higher than acceptable levels of blue-green algae, more recent samples showed water quality to be at acceptable levels, the health department said.
The beach had also been closed to bathers earlier in the month for the same reason, and was reopened Aug. 22, officials said.
For more information on affected beaches, call the county's bathing beach hotline at 631-852-5822 or check suffolkcountyny.gov/health.
