A Bay Shore man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after he drove his car into a bagel shop during an attempt to avoid cops, Suffolk County police said.
Sean Molin, 49, of Community Road, was driving on West Main Street in Bay Shore at about 10:10 p.m. Friday when he saw police activity ahead, police said. He tried to turn his 2012 Nissan Murano around and instead struck a parked car, then careened into Bagel Cafe at the corner of West Main Street and Ocean Avenue, police said.
He was taken to Southside Hospital and treated for minor injuries.
Police arrested him on charges of driving while intoxicated, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and on an outstanding bench warrant on drug charges. Molin will be arraigned at a later date, police said.
