Two firefighters taken to hospital after Holtsville fire

Two firefighters were taken to a local hospital for precautionary reasons after an early morning fire in Holtsville, Suffolk fire officials said. Monday morning, Nov. 24, 2014. Two firefighters were taken to a hospital Monday for precautionary care after an early morning fire in Holtsville, Suffolk fire officials said.
One of the volunteers suffered from heat exhaustion, and the other reported dizziness, officials said. The department affiliations for both firefighters was not immediately clear.
Officials said the two firefighters were among volunteers from departments in Holbrook, Farmingville and Ronkonkoma d fighting the kitchen fire at a home on Vautrin Avenue, just off the Long Island Expressway, at 12:30 a.m. .
No one in the home was injured in the fire.
Suffolk County police and fire officials also reported another fire early Monday on Lou Avenue in Kings Park. In that case, the home was evacuated, officials said, and no one was injured.
Volunteers from Kings Park, Smithtown, East Northport and Commack responded.
