Two men seriously hurt when motorcycle hits deer in East Hampton, police say
Two men were seriously injured when their motorcycle struck a deer early Friday in East Hampton, police said.
The two, identified by East Hampton Town police as Matthew T. Menold, 18, and Camaron W. Cassidy, 18, both of East Hampton, were ejected from the Honda motorcycle as a result of the 1:25 a.m. collision on Hog Creek Road.
Menold was transported to Southampton Hospital, where he was being treated. Police said he is expected to make a full recovery. Cassidy was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital and is in critical but stable condition.
Police said the pair were northbound on Hog Creek Road when they struck the deer just north of Dogwood. Police are asking anyone with information regarding the crash to call detectives at 631-537-7575.
