Southern State Parkway lanes near the Wantagh State Parkway reopened Wednesday before 9 a.m. after early morning closure because of downed utility wires.

A PSEG spokesman said lines came down around 7 a.m. on the Southern State Parkway near Bellmore Avenue, about half a mile west of Wantagh State Parkway. PSEG workers were finishing cleanup and investigating why the wires fell, the spokesman said in an email.

Earlier, the state's 511NY website showed lane closures from exit 27 north to exit 25.
