Here's the idea: Run a 5K that includes crawling through mud and climbing and jumping over stuff. What's not to like about that?
This Saturday is The Survival Race in Riverhead at the 4-H camp on Sound Avenue.
Runners go in waves of 300 at 30-minute intervals starting at 9 a.m. You get a T-shirt and, if you finish, dog tags. There's even a band.
This will by my first mud run. Has anyone done this race before? What's it all about?
