In a story published August 8, 2023, about July being the hottest month on record, The Associated Press misquoted climate scientist Stefan Rahmstorf as saying July was “quite clearly” the warmest month in 10,000 years. Rahmstorf said July was “quite likely” the warmest month in 10,000 years.
