Charles Pollock, a famed furniture designer, died in a fire at his Queens home early Tuesday morning, authorities said.

Pollock, 83, was killed in the blaze that erupted around 7 a.m. in the basement of a two-story private home on 157th Street in South Jamaica.

There were 60 firefighters on scene to get the fire under control at 7:36 a.m., the FDNY said. There were no other injuries. The city fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.

The furniture designer was best known for his Pollock Executive Chair, which was made for Knoll in 1963.
