Kelsey Grammer for NYC mayor?

You can look for Kelsey Grammer’s name on NYC’s 2013 mayoral ballot, but don’t run to the eye doctor if you can’t see it.
Reports that the actor – famous for playing the finicky Freudian Frasier Crane – may be running for NYC mayor are at least a decade premature, the actor’s spokesman said Monday.
“This is why actors hate the press,” said Stan Rosenfield, Grammer’s spokesman. Grammer, a Republican who has often talked about his interest in politics, has long said he might run for office “down the road – but we’re not even to the road. … He’s not ready to give up his other jobs,” to run for any office in New York, Rosenfield steamed.
The mix-up bleeds irony, given that the New York Post story that ignited the speculation was based on an interview Grammer, 56, gave Friday at a Television Critics Association gathering to promote his show “Boss,” set to debut Oct. 21 on STARZ, Rosenfield said. In the show, Grammer plays a Chicago mayor of indeterminate political affiliation who learns he’s suffering from a fatal disease.
Grammer has often speculated that he might one day run for office, a la Republicans Ronald Reagan and Arnold Schwarzenegger, when his acting days are done. Grammer owns property in Manhattan and California, said Rosenfield, who did not know in which state his client was registered to vote. Should Grammer make a New York run, Rosenfield will not be along for the ride to run the ultimate Spin City.
“I’m not a resident of New York!” Rosenfield added.
