'Millionaire Matchmaker' hits New York

New York bigwigs and Los Angeles bigwigs are nothing alike, according to “Millionaire Matchmaker” Patti Stanger.

When she moved her Bravo show from the West Coast to the Big Apple for the upcoming fourth season, she found her millionaire dating clients weren’t only interested in looks like daters in L.A. were.

“Millionaires and millionairesses [in New York] not only expect you to go to Harvard and look halfway decent, they expect you to cure cancer,” Stanger said during a press conference call yesterday. "They’re kind of snobs in the education and pedigree department, where in L.A. ... they’re very shallow.”

Stanger said that with her University of Miami diploma, she’d never be able to live up to New York millionaires’ standards.

As for Stanger’s own dating life, she’s having trouble finding Mr. Right after ending things with fiance Andy Friedman this past summer.

“I don’t date my clients because that could become a sexual harassment lawsuit. I can’t go on Match.com like the old days,” she said. “I’m dating sporadically. A lot of ex-boyfriends are coming back ... but I’m trying to find the right guy.”
