A 3-year old Manhattan girl was killed Sunday when her sister inadvertently pushed a sofa bed, which folded with the girl inside, the NYPD said.

Aissante Diallo was lying in the sofa bed with her 10-year old sister in their Harlem home, police said.

"Then the 5-year-old sister pushed the sofa bed in and it folded up on her," said a spokeswoman for the NYPD.

The oldest sister escaped unharmed, except for a few bumps and bruises, police said.

Police arrested the girls' mother's live-in boyfriend, Mohamed Barry, who was watching the girls, and charged him with endangering the welfare of a child.

The children's mother was not home at the time.
