The NYPD is amping up security on bridges two days after some 600 partiers took to the base of the Manhattan Bridge in an impromptu party that overran the walkway, according to reports.

As part of the heightened security, officers have been instructed to keep "closer tabs" on the bridges, and residents have reported seeing more officers posted at the Brooklyn Bridge, according to CBS New York, which first reported on the upped security.

Many bridges already have security cameras, but there have already been a handful of major breaches this year.
