The Amazing Kreskin has stepped up to the plate and offered his services to help the Mets get back into the playoff hunt.

The Amazin's have fallen under .500 since the All-Star break after going 46-40 in the first half, and Kreskin -- a mentalist and former syndicated TV show host who appeared 88 times on the "Tonight Show" with Johnny Carson -- thinks that he can use his powers to help turn their season around.

And best of all, he could do it in as little as two 90-minute sessions.

"What I would do meeting with them as a group would condition their mind so that we can remove from them the negativeness -- and there is negativeness around them," Kreskin, a Montclair, N.J., native, told amNewYork. "They're reminding each other [of their recent failures] without saying anything. I need to change their mindset.

"It's a power of positive thinking," he added. "That's a very general approach, but it has a wisdom to it."

Kreskin, 77, won't make any promises as to how effective his treatment could be, but he said there's a "damn good chance" his mental conditioning techniques would work.

"No miracles -- it's not a magic act," he said. "I'm not going to gesture hypnotically and suddenly they're winning

The Mets did not respond to a request for comment.
