The Suffolk County Police Department will hold an auction of unclaimed property ranging from hand and power tools to televisions and jewelry in Yaphank Wednesday starting at 8:30 a.m.

The auction will be held at the Property Section building, next to police headquarters at 30 Yaphank Ave.

Police officials say other items up for sale include household and automotive items, gun scopes and cases, clothing, and electronics. This auction, however, will not include any sale of motor vehicles or motorcycles. The materials for sale include found property turned into police but never claimed, and property seized but no longer needed in legal proceedings and where the owners cannot be located.

All items will be sold in “as is” condition and all purchases must be made in cash. In addition, all purchases will be subject to state and county and sales tax.

In case of severe weather, check the department website, www.suffolkpd.org, or call 631-852-6471 for information about rescheduling.
