Most executives would at one point or another love to use a sledgehammer to deal with a disagreement.
Most executives aren’t Paul “Triple H” Levesque.
The real-life WWE suit -- and 13-time former world champion -- used his favorite weapon to finish off former WWE/UFC champ Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania XXIX Sunday in a no-holds-barred match with Triple H's wrestling career on the line.
Most of the match consisted of Lesnar throwing around Triple H at will. He made an early point of sending Triple H through an announce table that didn’t break when CM Punk flew on top of Undertaker from the top rope in the previous bout.
The assault prompted WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels, who was in Triple H’s corner, to attempt a “Sweet Chin Music” superkick to save his friend. Michaels got an “F5” drop from Lesnar for his troubles.
Lesnar, by this point tired of suplexes, started pummeling Triple H with the steel ring steps.
“Torture him all night long, make him feel the pain,” Lesnar’s manager, Paul Heyman, shouted.
But Triple H would make a comeback, using a chair shot to Lesnar’s left elbow (while said elbow was wrapped around a ring post) to even up the odds.
Eventually Triple H caught Lesnar in the same kimura armlock Lesnar had used to “break” Triple H’s arm twice.
Heyman came in with a chair to try and save Lesnar, but Michaels was there to finally land the Sweet Chin Music on the manager.
Lesnar nearly tapped out, but responded by picking up Triple H and slamming his back into the ring steps. He would do so three times before Triple H finally gave up on the kimura.
Triple H now had a different idea -- the sledgehammer. He nailed Lensar, then finished him with a Pedigree piledriver on the ring steps to get the three-count.
