Voters have approved two Northport-East Northport school district capital improvement propositions, paving the way for projects at three of the district’s schools.

Kathleen Molander, the district’s assistant superintendent for business, said it will now be able to use $1,595,000 in existing funds from the 2011-2012 school year to refurbish auditoriums at the Northport and East North middle schools, make bathroom renovations at Northport Middle School and update the heating, ventilating and air-conditioning at the Dickinson Avenue School.

That proposition passed, 1,097-165, according to the district.

The second proposition called for the creation of a Capital Reserve II Fund, Molander said. The new 10-year fund can accumulate up to $12 million, she said. It passed, 1,012-211.
