Wrestlemania 27 predictions: Michael Cole vs. Jerry Lawler
Alfonso: Who would have thought that a match between two wrestling announcers would be among the most anticipated of the entire WrestleMania card? WWE has done a fine job of building the tension between Cole and Lawler over several months. Jack Swagger will be there to contribute to the athletic quotient of this match, and take some big bumps. Cole will likely not be expected to do much here other than to sell a second-rope fist drop from Lawler, and likely a Stone Cold Stunner. This is the annual WrestleMania “spectacle” match that will be difficult to rate on a star scale, but will likely be entertaining no less. I expect Lawler to pick up a relatively easy win, and then introduce his broadcast partner for the rest of the event: Jim Ross.
Pick: Jerry Lawler
Anthony: Lawler finally gets his revenge on Michael Cole after taking an incredible amount of abuse the last few weeks. This match will be fun as I expect Jim Ross to call the match and special guest referee Stone Cold Steve Austin to stun both Jack Swagger and Cole. This ends in a beer bash with Lawler, JR and Austin. Predictable? Of course, but it never gets old when it comes to Austin. Is it too much to ask that he rides down to the ring in an RV again?
Pick: Jerry Lawler
Seth: Congrats to Lawler on his first Mania match. This one will have a metric ton of heat, and should be a lot of fun to watch. Assuming Austin will stun someone and drink a beer along the way -- a prediction I make based off pretty much the only thing he's done on TV since 2003.
Pick: Jerry Lawler
