99°Good afternoon

Now that Alfonso and Anthony have weighed in, here's my thoughts on tomorrow's WrestleMania:

Shawn Michaels vs. Undertaker: Undertaker wins (see my blog post from Thursday for more specifics)

WWE Title: Batista vs. John Cena. Last year's Cena World Title win, which should have meant something, fell flat because of the shadow of Taker/Michaels, the awesome build of HHH/Orton and the fact that it was a Triple Threat. It seems they're painting themself into a similar corner this year, since Taker/Michaels simply must go on last. That means switching the title here would be a mistake; as Vince used to tell us, the more stuff you have under the spotlight, the less focus any one thing has. I'd put Batista over here to continue the feud post-WrestleMania. If the rumors are true about Michaels, Taker and HHH all taking time off after Mania, they need a feud like this to steer the ship through SummerSlam, and putting the babyface over so soon is not the way to do it. The money is in the babyface's chase, not his win.

All that being said, I still think they'll put the title on Cena. WrestleMania is the big blowoff show of the year, but where are the babyface moments? Bret beating Vince will be one, but past that, unless they rush a title change with Cena or Edge, where? If Taker wins, it's bittersweet because Michaels retires, and if Michaels wins, it's bittersweet because of the streak. I'll be curious to see how they handle things.

World Title: Chris Jericho vs. Edge. I'd have Jericho retain to give this feud some legs as well. This match just feels so hopelessly overmatched by Taker/Michaels, Cena/Batista and even Bret/Vince, I hope they don't do a title switch, since it will get totally lost in the shuffle.

Randy Orton vs. Ted DiBiase vs. Cody Rhodes: How the mighty have fallen. Orton was the hottest act in the company going into last year's WrestleMania, but a TERRIBLE main event match against HHH deflated that very quickly. Now Orton finds himself in a bland Triple Threat blowoff to a faction that never really even took off. I'd put Orton over here.

Rey Mysterio vs. C.M. Punk. Of the limited TV watching I've done in the past year, I gotta tell you, C.M. Punk is my favorite character on TV, by far. Mysterio winning here does nothing for Mysterio, and hurts Punk's momentum. Punk winning here gives you a few fun months of television. So that's what I'd do.

Vince McMahon vs. Bret Hart. If you'd have told me a year ago that Vince and Bret would be fighting at Mania 26 and I wouldn't care at all, I wouldn't have believed you. This just feels so flat, and for a simple reason -- like the WCW invasion, and Eric Bischoff coming in, and Hogan/Rock and a million other things, they had an easy backstory that they chose to ignore in favor of a stupid month-long soap opera gimmick. Bret will go over here in a match where they'll use every gimmick but the kitchen sink -- chairs, run-ins, tables, who knows.

Money in the Bank -- Kofi Kingston.

Triple H vs. Sheamus -- HHH goes over.

Tag Titles: Miz & Big Show vs. Morrison & R-Truth. Miz & Big Show retain.

Enjoy the show!
