A historic home with some modern amenities in Glen Cove is on the market for $2.5 million, with taxes of $31,801. The property is in the Glen Cove City School District.
The Queen Anne Victorian was built around 1898. It is on Duck Pond Road, which was the original town path connecting Glen Cove to Oyster Bay, according to the home's building inventory records.
The home boasts six bedrooms and six bathrooms. The house totals 5,000 square feet, sitting on a 1.7-acre lot.
"It's way off the road, which is so nice," said Linda Brown, of Daniel Gale Sotheby's International Realty. She is co-listing the property with Laura Algios. Brown also sold the home to the sellers more than 20 years ago, she said.
"It's set back so beautifully on the property, and in such a way that it would allow for a pool or a tennis court. There's a lot of land, and it's not crowding the house," Brown said.

Some notable features include a covered wraparound porch, a wood-burning fireplace in the living room and a detached two-car garage with a loft space. Additionally, there is a wine cellar in the basement and a sauna on the third floor.

The wine cellar is roughly 14-by-10 feet. It includes space for seating, two coolers and several storage racks. A hand-painted mural on the wall depicts a vineyard. The sauna is "very large," as well, said Brown.
"It's a great house for entertaining," she added.

The sellers brought new life to the vintage home while still honoring its past: "There are beautiful pocket doors that were hiding in the walls," said Brown. "They resurrected them."
One of the ensuite bedrooms features a renovated bathroom with a clawfoot tub, she added.

And the gardens on the premises, also cultivated by the sellers, showcase lilacs, dogwoods, Japanese maples and dual magnolia trees that greet visitors upon pulling into the long driveway.
"It's a historical home that has been lovingly maintained over many years, and it shows," Brown said.
