A midcentury modern home in Oyster Bay Cove is on the market for nearly $2.2 million. The taxes are $20,519, plus an annual payment of $800 to the Laurel Cove Association for roads and beach access, said listing agent Sari Eidelkind, of Lucky to Live Here Realty.
The house was built in 1956 by Edward Durell Stone, a noted architect of the time period, Eidelkind said. She added that since the home was actually constructed during the mid-century movement, that makes it one of very few authentic homes of this style on Long Island.

"I've been blessed to either sell or represent about a dozen of them, between Oyster Bay and the Northport, Eatons Neck area," Eidelkind said. "But when it comes to how many there are in the area, it's a rare gem."

Located on South Road, the house contains five bedrooms and three bathrooms, totaling 3,568 square feet. It sits on a 2.06-acre lot. The property is surrounded by woods, and is in the Oyster Bay-East Norwich Central School District.

The kitchen boasts a wine refrigerator and bar area, and the primary bathroom features radiant heated floors. Both rooms were both updated within the last two years, Eidelkind said.
Other highlights include three fireplaces (both wood-burning and gas), a heated in-ground pool, a custom mahogany front door, a backyard koi pond and a two-car garage.
"It's an architectural masterpiece," Eidelkind said.
