1890s Victorian in Port Washington on market for $2.45 million
A home built in the 1800s is on the market in Port Washington Heights for $2.45 million. The annual property taxes are $32,036.
Standing tall on Reid Avenue, the property sits on a 0.28-acre lot, coming to a total of 3,500 square feet. The Victorian home, built in 1898, features cedar shake siding. It contains four bedrooms, three full bathrooms and two half-bathrooms.
"It has a huge family room that used to be an enclosed porch," said listing agent Shelley Scotto, of Compass. "It’s 44 feet long, which is really nice."
There are three wood-burning fireplaces, including one in the primary bedroom. Through the years, the house was updated but still maintains some original features, such as its diamond pane windows.
"It has all the convenience of a modern house, but built in the 1800s," said Scotto. "It was renovated while keeping the year of the house in mind. You don’t walk in and feel like it’s two different times."
The first floor includes a library that can also serve as a home office, Scotto said. Upstairs, the primary suite is completed by a private, full bathroom.
Other highlights include hardwood floors, a two-car garage and a full basement. An outdoor deck can be found alongside the house.
"It’s warm and cozy, but it's up to date," Scotto added.
The property is in the Port Washington Union Free School District.
